A stray bullet deflected by a Razer Kraken headset saved an 18-year-old gamer, last Wednesday morning in Torrance, California. After breaching their bedroom window and bouncing off a wall, the shot ricocheted off his Razer Kraken headset. The incident did not result in any injuries, though the victim did describe a prolonged headache.

I’m trying to get a hold of someone at Razer to thank them with all my heart. Wednesday at 10:30 am a stray bullet went through my window and hit the Razer headphones on top of my head.”

The user further adds, “If it wasn’t for the headphones made with good quality I would’ve been a dead kid at the age of 18. I couldn’t even imagine all the pain my family and friends would’ve been through.”

The Reddit user further explains that the bullet came through his window, landed on his headset, bounced off the wall, and finally fell into his bed.”

As the Reddit post was posted so close to April Fools Day, it was received with widespread suspicion on the site. Some speculated that the poster staged the gunshot to obtain a free headset. However, the Reddit user “Enough_Dance_956” reacted to the suspicion with a ” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>second post that contained images of the gunshot hole in the window, the depression on the wall caused by the initial ricochet, and the bullet on the bed, where it ended up after impacting the headset.

In a response to PC Gamer, a Razer representative stated that the firm was not responsible for the post and was not aware of the event until it surfaced on Reddit. “This is not an April Fool’s joke, at least not from us,” they explained. “We’ve already gone out to the community member to thank him and, at the very least, provide him a new headset.”
