Documents reveal Elon Musk had secret twins with a top Neuralink exec

According to Business Insider, Elon Musk is the father of secret twins with current top Neuralink exec Shivon Zilis. Business Insider obtained a court document from this May in which top Neuralink exec Zilis and Elon Musk petitioned for a name change for secret twins, requesting that “the children’s last name be their father’s, and their mother’s last name be contained in their middle name.” A Travis County, Texas, court record acquired by CNN Business shows that the petition was submitted in April 2022 and obtained in May.

In apparent response to the report, Musk tweeted, “Doing my best to help the underpopulation crisis. A collapsing birth rate is the biggest danger civilization faces by far,” followed by “mark my words, they are sadly true.”

Zilis graduated from Yale, and since 2017, she has worked for Musk’s startup Neuralink, which develops brain-computer interface technologies. She also mentions employment with OpenAI, the nonprofit AI safety organisation Musk helped establish, beginning in 2016 as well as employment with Tesla Motors from 2017 to 2019 working on AI with the Autopilot and chip design teams. Since 2020, she has been on the OpenAI board of directors. She said to have met Musk through her role with OpenAI while speaking at the Canadian Undergraduate Conference on AI last year.

Zilis is from Canada, and her profile notes that she has previously served on the boards of two Canadian AI organisations. According to the Business Insider story, she was included on the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2015 for her position as a founding member of the Bloomberg Beta’s investment team. She has written about the state of machine learning and appeared in Do You Trust This Computer?, a documentary exploring the challenges of AI.

According to a Business Insider article from May, Elon’s other company, SpaceX allegedly paid a flight attendant $250,000 to guarantee she didn’t speak out or sue the company on her allegation that the executive exposed himself and propositioned her for sex.  At the time, Musk in a tweet said, “For the record, those wild accusations are utterly untrue.”

According to a Vanity Fair article published in April, in addition to their son X Æ A-12, Elon Musk and his ex-partner, the singer Grimes, also have a second kid who was born via surrogate in late 2021. Musk now has nine known children, including the five he used as a justification for constructing a grade school for the kids of SpaceX employees.
